We've Got The Rhythm
We’ve Got the Rhythm is one of Talking Hands Talking Feet’s signature Brain and Body Tune-Ups and one of the most versatile activities we use in schools, camps, teacher trainings, and workshops.
This rhythm guide introduces the activity step by step while demonstrating it with children of different ages. Beginning with simple call-and-response patterns, it gradually develops rhythm, memory, coordination, and expressive movement into a joyful whole-body learning experience.

Rhythm Ideas
As children pass rhythms around the circle, remember movement sequences, cross the body’s midline, and respond to changing patterns, they naturally strengthen:
- Rhythm and timing
- Working memory and recall
- Left/right brain crossover
- Focus and attention
- Coordination and movement vocabulary
- Listening and observation skills
- Confidence and group participation
We’ve Got the Rhythm is one of our favorite activities because it is endlessly adaptable. It can be used as a daily warm-up, an energizer between lessons, a music activity, a movement break, or a foundation for developing more complex rhythm and coordination skills.
Children simply think they’re having fun. Meanwhile, they’re building capacities that support learning across the curriculum.
